Controversial Events on Campus: Opportunities & Limitations in Institutional Responses

Venues and spaces at UBC are regularly used to host speakers or events that may be considered controversial. Join us to discuss opportunities and limitations in terms of responding to these events.

We’ll explore what options are available on campus in terms of guiding response and action, and whether there is an opportunity to enhance and/or expand existing mechanisms to manage these events.

This event will provide a facilitated space to share perspectives on these issues and is open to students, staff, and faculty.

Facilitator: Aftab Erfan, Director of Dialogue and Conflict Engagement, Equity & Inclusion Office.
