The Equity & Inclusion Office is committed to actively supporting and engaging with UBC’s diverse communities.
From student-led groups to staff and faculty initiatives, the following groups empower many historically, systemically and persistently marginalized groups, create safe spaces on campus and amplify the voices of those who have often been excluded from mainstream narratives. The EIO is committed to collaborating with these groups in advocating for representation of underrepresented groups and fostering a strong sense of belonging at UBC.
Together, we can work toward a more equitable, inclusive and welcoming campus for everyone.
The Black Caucus is a forum for Black faculty, staff, students and members of the community. Founded in the aftermath of an incident of anti-Black racism on the UBC campus, the Black Caucus provides a community of support to its members while advancing a discourse on Blackness in Canada, advocating for institutional change and holding UBC accountable to its commitment toward justice, equitable representation, and meaningful inclusion.
IBPOC Connections strives to enhance the experiences and outcomes of faculty and staff who identify as Indigenous, Black and/or People of Colour at UBC. Focused on community, belonging, and engagement, IBPOC Connections creates a space where IBPOC faculty and staff can come together to be in good company, to have candid conversations, and to collaborate and coordinate.
The Disability Affinity Group is a group, a collective, a community of disabled folks working at UBC on both campuses. The group provides support, sharing stories and resources, and taking positive action to improve the lives of past, current and future UBC colleagues (faculty and staff).

Colour Connected Against Racism is an AMS resource group that works to end racism, and all forms of oppression, discrimination and prejudice.
The Pride Collective is an AMS resource group that offers educational and social services dealing with sexual and gender diversity to the UBC community, including but not limited to students, staff, and faculty.
The Women's Centre is a resource group of the Alma Mater Society at UBC. This student run organization has been the voice for women's needs and issues at UBC for over 40 years.
UBC Black Students Union is a Black centred organisation that hopes to create a safe space to educate, assist, as well as highlight the successes of the Black community at UBC
First Generation Students Union (FGSU) at UBC is an AMS officiated club that is concerned with supporting students who are the first in their families to attend a post-secondary institution
