Implementing equity and anti-racism priorities: Progress update

Overview

A year after the launch of the Strategic Equity and Anti-Racism (StEAR) Roadmap for Change in June 2023, the UBC Equity & Inclusion Office is pleased to provide an update on progress and future directions.

Racialized students, faculty and staff are invited to join this session to learn about the status of strategic actions advancing equity and anti-racism at UBC, and to share any questions, feedback, experiences, needs and interests that should be reflected moving forward.

What to expect

  • Hear an update from Dr. al Shaibah on the implementation of strategic actions advancing UBC’s equity and anti-racism priorities, and key highlights from the inaugural 2024 StEAR progress report
  • Receive specific updates on StEAR actions and initiatives pertaining to the racialized community.
  • Share questions, comments and feedback in a Q&A session

Who can join

To center the voices and experiences of racialized community members, we ask that only students, faculty and staff who identify with this community join this session. If you are not part of the racialized community at UBC, please register for one of the other available sessions.
