Overview
A year after the launch of the Strategic Equity and Anti-Racism (StEAR) Roadmap for Change in June 2023, the UBC Equity & Inclusion Office is pleased to provide an update on progress and future directions.
All UBC students, faculty and staff are welcome to join this session to learn about the status of strategic actions advancing equity and anti-racism at UBC, and to share any questions, feedback, experiences, needs and interests that should be reflected moving forward.

Additionally, dedicated sessions are being made available for those belonging to historically, persistently, systemically marginalized (HPSM) communities, including for:
- Disabled students, faculty and staff | June 17, 10:45 – 12pm
- Will also provide an opportunity to learn about efforts underway related to UBC’s accessibility planning.
- Racialized students, faculty and staff | June 24, 10:45 – 12pm
- Will also provide an opportunity to hear about specific priorities named in the Anti-Racism and Inclusive Excellence Task Force report.
- 2SLGBTQIA+ students, faculty and staff | June 24, 2:45 – 4:00pm
- Will also provide an opportunity to hear about priorities named in the Trans, Two-Spirit, and Gender Diversity Task Force report.
- HPSM students, faculty and staff broadly with consideration of additional or intersecting priorities | June 19, 9:30 – 10:45am
What to expect
- Hear an update from Dr. al Shaibah on the implementation of strategic actions advancing UBC’s equity and anti-racism priorities, and key highlights from the inaugural 2024 StEAR progress report
- Share questions, comments and feedback in a Q&A session
