Prior to joining the EIO, Ismaël developed and managed CCEL’s Collaboration Laboratory (Collaboratory) program to facilitate mutually beneficial, community-driven community-university project partnerships. Ismaël has worked in the non-profit sector and has been a university and college instructor. He completed his dissertation in 2017 (McMaster University). His research explored how ‘white allies’ conceptualize and practice anti-racism in organizations and the everyday life. Outside of work, Ismaël serves the community through public education on anti-racism and racism, and as a committee member.
