Join the UBC Equity Ambassadors and discuss to what extent mass media continues to perpetuate racism and explore opportunities for intervention. As part of this event, we’ll be examining racism through diverse perspectives, including through an exploration of different advertisements and representations of race in popular culture.
You’ll also hear from two graduate students from the Social Justice Institute who will share their insights on how different ways that racism can be manifested locally and globally.
This event will be in the form of a Conversation Cafe and will be co-facilitated with African Awareness Initiative executive.
