BIPOC Connections: Staff and Faculty Lunch

Looking to join and build a community for BIPOC staff and faculty? Join us for the inaugural BIPOC Connections lunch – a social gathering for faculty and staff who self-identify as Black, Indigenous or as a Person of Colour (BIPOC).

BIPOC Connections provides a unique and intentional space to build community and create a space of belonging for BIPOC faculty and staff at UBC Vancouver.

Hear about existing initiatives for BIPOC faculty and staff – including the upcoming coffee club –  and explore additional opportunities to connect with colleagues with shared experiences and interests.

By attending, you’ll also be entered into a draw for a gift basket containing a copy of Dr. Damon A. Williams’ book, Strategic Diversity Leadership, and a copy of Reproduction, an award-winning novel by this year’s winner of the Scotiabank Giller Prize – Dr. Ian Williams.

This initiative is hosted on the traditional, ancestral, and unceded territory of the Musqueam people and with the support of the Equity & Inclusion Office and St. John’s College.

Cost – pay what you can:

  • $5 covers a portion of event costs
  • $10 contributes to future BIPOC Connections events

Please register early as seating is limited. If you are an ally interested in attending, please email us at info@equity.ubc.ca to register (pending capacity).
