Access & Diversity provides disability-related accommodations for UBC faculty and staff that have a disability or medical condition. Accommodations are based on documented functional implications of a disability in the workplace.
Work-place accommodations might include print materials in alternate formats, such as audio or e-text, sign language interpreting, oral interpreting, or captioning services.
The Equipment Accommodation Fund (managed by Access and Diversity) may be used to cover extraordinary costs associated with specialized adaptive supplies and equipment that: facilitate the recruitment of well-qualified persons with disabilities into faculty and staff positions; and accommodate the disability related needs of current faculty and staff.
