The Equity & Inclusion Office joins students, faculty, and staff across UBC in expressing our deepest sorrow following the tragic events at the Quebec City mosque this weekend. This senseless tragedy, coupled with President Trump’s executive order to ban people from several Muslim-majority countries, is deeply troubling to many of us at UBC.
We understand that students, faculty, and staff members may be directly impacted by these recent events. A list of resources and information about the vigil being held in Vancouver on February 4 are included in President Ono’s statement from Jan. 30, UBC condemns violence against Muslims.
