Become a Positive Space Facilitator

The Equity and Inclusion Office at UBC Vancouver is offering a Train-the-Trainer opportunity for the Positive Space campaign.

If you are looking for a chance to strengthen your leadership, mentorship, and facilitation skills and your commitment to Positive Space, we invite you to contact us. The two-day, 7-hour training session will be held Monday and Tuesday, September 29/30, from 9:00 am to 12:30 pm.

For those who took part in our recent program survey we are grateful for your contributions to strengthen Positive Space trainings and for your desire to become more involved with the Campaign. A key part of the Campaign’s success is that we will continue offering co-facilitated deliveries, inclusive of both queer and ally community-members.

If you are interested, please send us:

  • A brief Letter of Interest sharing who you are and why you would like to become a volunteer Positive Space co-facilitator; your work and lived facilitation experience; your connection or alliance to the LGBT*TQIA+ communities; and approximately when you last attended a Positive Space workshop
  • A commitment to co-facilitate up to two 3.5 hour sessions per term
  • If you are a staff member please approach your supervisor for permission to take this course and to commit to its maximum twice-a-term requirement.

Please submit your Letter of Interest to Donna Lester-Smith, Equity and Inclusion Educator, by Friday August 22nd 2014.
