Response was high this year for UBC’s Equity Enhancement Fund. The Equity and Inclusion office, who administers the fund, received 26 proposals from UBC Vancouver and 10 proposals from UBC Okanagan.
“We are pleased to see so many strong and high quality applications for the Fund this year,” said Gurdeep Parhar, Acting Associate Vice President, Equity and Inclusion. “It is especially notable that we received 10 applications from UBC Okanagan, the most we have seen yet. We are grateful for the support of Deborah Buszard, Deputy Vice-Chancellor and Principal, Cynthia Mathieson, Provost and Vice-Principal, and Jenica Frisque, Equity and Inclusion Educator at the Okanagan campus.”
The sub-committee of the Provost’s Advisory Committee on Equity and Diversity will meet in April to assist in adjudicating the Vancouver proposals. At UBC Okanagan, the DVC Human Rights committee will assist in adjudicating the Okanagan proposals.
The results for the Fund will be administered in May, 2014 with a letter from Gurdeep Parhar, Acting AVP Equity and Inclusion.
